كيف حددت المخابرات الأميركية موقع الظواهري قبل اغتياله ؟

قُتل زعيم تنظيم القاعدة أيمن الظواهري في ضربة أميركية بأفغانستان مطلع الأسبوع، في أكبر ضربة للتنظيم المتشدد منذ مقتل مؤسسه أسامة بن لادن في عام 2011.

وقال مسؤول كبير في إدارة الرئيس جو بايدن إن الظواهري كان مختبئا منذ سنوات، وأن عملية تحديد مكانه وقتله كانت نتيجة عمل دقيق ودؤوب لمجتمع مكافحة الإرهاب والمخابرات.

وقدم المسؤول، الذي تحدث شريطة عدم الكشف عن هويته، تفاصيل العملية، قائلا: “لسنوات عديدة، كانت الحكومة الأميركية على علم بشبكة تدعم الظواهري، وعلى مدار العام الماضي بعد انسحاب الولايات المتحدة من أفغانستان، كان المسؤولون يراقبون المؤشرات على وجود القاعدة في البلاد”.

وأضاف: “هذا العام، حدد المسؤولون أن عائلة الظواهري، زوجته وابنته وأطفالها، انتقلوا إلى منزل آمن في كابل قبل أن يحددوا أن الظواهري في المكان نفسه”.

وأكمل المسؤول: “على مدى عدة أشهر، ازدادت ثقة مسؤولي المخابرات في أنهم حددوا هوية الظواهري بشكل صحيح في كابل، وفي أوائل أبريل، بدؤوا في إطلاع كبار مسؤولي الإدارة على المعلومات”.

ولفت إلى أن “مسؤولي المخابرات تمكنوا من تحديد نمط حياة الظواهري، وبمجرد وصوله إلى المنزل في كابل، رصدوه في شرفته، حيث استُهدف في نهاية المطاف”.

وأوضح: “حقق المسؤولون في طريقة بناء المنزل الآمن وطبيعته، ودققوا في قاطنيه للتأكد من أن الولايات المتحدة يمكن أن تنفذ بثقة عملية لقتل الظواهري دون تهديد سلامة المبنى وتقليل المخاطر على المدنيين وعائلة الظواهري”، وفقما نقلت “رويترز”.

وأشار إلى أن “الرئيس جو بايدن عقد اجتماعات مع كبار المستشارين وأعضاء الإدارة لفحص معلومات المخابرات وتقييم أفضل مسار للعمل، وطرح بايدن أسئلة تفصيلية عما عرفناه وكيف عرفناه، وفحص عن كثب نموذجا للمنزل الذي أعده مسؤولو المخابرات وأحضروه إلى الاجتماع”.

ووفق المسؤول فإن الرئيس بايدن سأل عن الإضاءة والطقس ومواد البناء وعوامل أخرى قد تؤثر على نجاح العملية، كما طلب تحليل التداعيات المحتملة للضربة في كابل.

واختتم المسؤول حديثه قائلا إن الرئيس “دعا في 25 يوليو، أعضاء إدارته الرئيسيين ومستشاريه، لتلقي إحاطة أخيرة ومناقشة كيف سيؤثر قتل الظواهري على علاقة أميركا مع طالبان، وبعد التماس الآراء، أذن بايدن بضربة جوية دقيقة، بشرط أن تقلل من خطر وقوع إصابات في صفوف المدنيين”.

جدير بالذكر أن الظواهري كان أكبر المطلوبين لدى الولايات المتحدة، نظرا لدوره في تنظيم القاعدة المسؤول عن هجمات الحادي عشر من سبتمبر في نيويورك سنة 2001.

وتولى الظواهري قيادة تنظيم القاعدة بعد مقتل مؤسسه، أسامة بن لادن، في عملية جرت بباكستان، في مايو 2011.
