أقيمت اليوم الأربعاء جنازة رسمية للقيادي الفلسطيني صائب عريقات قبل نقل جثمانه إلى مثواه الأخير في مدينة أريحا بعد وفاته متأثرا بإصابته بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، وذلك بالتزامن مع ذكرى مرور 16 عاما على وفاة الزعيم الفلسطيني ياسر عرفات.
وأقيمت الجنازة بحضور كبار القادة الفلسطينيين في رام الله ظهر اليوم، حيث اصطف حرس الشرف أثناء وصول جثمان عريقات إلى مقر الرئاسة.
وعُزف النشيد الوطني، ثم وضع الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس إكليلا من الزهور على جثمان عريقات، قبل أن يبدأ نقله إلى مسقط رأسه في أريحا لأداء الصلاة عليه ودفنه بمقبرة المدينة.
