يبدأ نمو دماغ الجنين عادة بعد 28 يوماً من الحمل؛ عندما يتشكل الأنبوب العصبي، ويجب على الأم تناول كميات كافية من العناصر الغذائية؛ لأن ما تأكله الأم أثناء الحمل له تأثير كبير على نمو دماغ الطفل داخل الرحم، واستجاباته المعرفية في مرحلة لاحقة من الحياة، ويعد أهم عنصرين مغذيين يلعبان دوراً مهماً في نمو الدماغ؛ هما حمض الفوليك والكولين، وكلاهما يمنع عيوب الأنبوب العصبي.

وتشمل العناصر الغذائية الأساسية الأخرى التي يجب إدخالها إلى نظام الحامل الغذائي؛ اليود والحديد والبروتين وفيتامين “د”. فيما يلي، وفقاً لموقع webmd، بعض الأطعمة الأكثر شيوعاً، التي يجب تناولها أثناء الحمل لزيادة ذكاء الطفل:

1. البيض
